Errant Story is a fantasy comic by Michael Poe. It features elves, guns, time ninjas, scary little mage girls, and a combination of humor and serious storytelling. Here's your chance to show our readers what you've got!
The Advertising Locations
We currently have three ad placement options. The 160 x 600 skyscraper ad to the right of the comic appears on the right-hand side of every public page across the site, except the forum or the wiki. The small ad buttons under the skyscraper also appear on every public page. Under the comic on the main page only there are also seven 117x34 buttons, which can be replaced by one 728 x 90 ad on request.
What Our Advertisers Get
Advertising with us is an opportunity to reach an amazing group of people. Though we have a pretty diverse fanbase, there is a unifying factor... like us, our readers are geeks, and they're proud of it. Errant Story fans enjoy things like fantasy, science fiction, roleplaying games, video games, comic books, anime, and collectibles. If it's smart, funny, and a little bit dark, it's a good bet our readers will like it.
Need more details about who reads Errant Story? Okay, the bare facts: Most of our readers are 21 or older, have at some point been into fantasy novels or gaming, and live in the U.S. About 60 % are male, and we have a fairly strong following of readers over 30 (about 20%), though not as many as are between the ages of 21 and 30 (about 48%). In addition to our U.S. readers (about 74% of our fanbase), we have fairly strong readerships in Canada, Australia, and Great Britain, and a fair number of our non-domestic store customers are from the European Union and Japan. In short, advertising with us is your way to reach a mature, global fanbase with a wide range of interests.
What Does It Cost
Day-to-day advertising is sold through our account on Project Wonderful, and it is priced by bid using their infinite auction model. Essentially, you enter what you're willing to pay for a day's worth of advertising, and the system bids for you up to that amount. So long as your bid is the highest, yours will be the ad shown. The different ad spaces on our sites all have different starting bids, the smallest space starts at $2 per day, the largest space currently starts at $15 per day. All of our spots offer great exposure, and thanks to Project Wonderful's campaign caps, you never have to go over your budget to check them out!
We also offer the option of buying a guaranteed exclusive campaign through our independent system. If you're interested in long-term advertising, this sort of campaign might be the better choice for you, since you'd get more steady exposure and wouldn't have to keep upping your bid to stay on the site. These campaigns are sold in intervals of one week at a time, and can be set to start whenever you like. The 728 x90 leaderboard space under the comic starts at $75 a week, and the skyscraper ad to the right of every page starts at $125 per week. Bulk rates are also available. Custom art or ad design, with or without Errant Story characters, is also available, and will be quoted on a case by case basis. E-mail us to reserve your ad space now!
What You Can Advertise
We'll advertise pretty much anything. Acceptable file formats are .jpg, .gif, .png, or .swf (yes, we'll run animated ads). All ads are subject to our approval before they can be run.
While there's very little we won't advertise, there are a few kinds of ads we just plain won't run. Obnoxious animated ads with sound effects or large file sizes top that list... you don't have to stun our readers to get their attention, and they'd prefer if you didn't. We also won't allow nudity or anything graphically suggestive in an ad, since we want the site to be relatively work-safe. We will still advertise "mature" sites, but we require that the page we actually link to be safe for our underaged readers.
Lastly, we reserve the right to refuse advertising services to anyone, at any time, for any reason. Everything that goes up on this site is our responsibility, and we take that responsibility seriously. We want the site to ultimately be enjoyable for our fans.
