Seeing Us At Conventions

This year, we're cutting back on conventions so that we can concentrate more of our energy on the store and on revising the comic for print. To make it easier for you to see if we'll be near you, we keep our official conventions list in easy view on the left-hand side of every page, where you can see right away what conventions we're attending this year. We never add conventions to the list until we're confirmed for vendor's space and our hotel room, so unless something drastic happens you can count on us to be at all of the cons on that list. Some cons will also announce who they're expecting as guests or exhibitors, so that's another good way to tell if we'll be at a convention near you.

Once a convention starts, we're pretty easy to find. Just look for the Selling Out for Fun and Profit.com dealer's booth! In an effort to make things easiest for you when you're trying to find us, we decided that we will always have a vendor's space at any con we attend, and we won't attend a con without having one confirmed in advance. That way, you'll know where we are and how to find us, and can come chat whenever you like!

We're also doing something a little different at the booth this year, and setting a schedule in advance for when Poe will be there or not. You can check with us at any time after the con starts to find out when Poe will be around for signings, and we'll also let you know if we're doing any panels that weekend. You can also check in with us for quests!

However, we can't just go around attending a lot of conventions uninvited. Our resources are too limited to hit more than a couple cons as exhibitors this year, so if we're not going to be at a particular convention near you, that's probably why. Generally speaking, we need to be guests to attend a convention... but that just means you need to let your local convention know if you want us to be invited!

Inviting Us to Your Convention

The first step in getting us to your convention is to ask! Just e-mail us to get all the details settled and we'll start packing. We're pretty flexible, and basically just need you to provide our badges, travel arrangements, and a hotel room. So long as the room is non-smoking (Impy's allergic), we're not too fussy, and we're willing to adjust our schedule to work with your convention's needs and budget.

In terms of programming, we have several different panels/workshops that we can run on a variety of topics, and we'd also be happy to participate in whatever other events you have in mind. A list of our panels and their descriptions is available when you e-mail us.

We would also be be delighted to buy or be given vendor space in addition to reimbursement for our expenses, since it would be no problem to spend our free time there, and that would actually be a lot better as a way for attendees to find us. However, we are unable to accept vendor space in lieu of reimbursement for the cost of our attendance. A vendor space requires full-time effort to cover our costs, and we'd already be putting that effort into being your guests. We need to be sure our expenses are already covered if we're not going to be able to give the table our full attention.
