This weekend, we are going to be at Dragon*Con in Atlanta! We've been looking forward to this con all year, so please come by to see us at our booth!

There's only a couple days left of this month, and we desperately need to make our donations goal, because falling behind means we can't pay our bills, and that is generally considered bad. Also, we're having a Labor Day sale on limited edition prints.

What do you like best about Errant Story?

Dragon*con is coming up, and that means it's time for me to write new pitches and revise the official synopsis. However, in the process of trying to describe what made Errant Story special, I realized that I was being very limited in how I wrote about it, and that what I saw in it wasn't necessarily what I kept trying to write. I kept writing about the basic stuff like the story and art and plot (which are of course simplified a LOT for a single page synopsis), when really the simple "what happens" isn't what I consider most important to communicate about the comic. Of course, that stuff is important in business terms and is awesome on its own and I will have to buckle down and write about it... but what I really wanted to convey goes far beyond that. I want to show how awesome the comic is as an environment, to highlight the unique and accessible setting, and most of all to talk about you guys: the community that I feel is a very important aspect of why I so enjoy this comic.

And that, in turn, got me wondering... why do YOU think Errant Story is special? What do you like best, what keeps you reading, what started you reading in the first place? What about Errant Story just makes you happy?

In other words: why are you here?

P.S. If Errant Story had a catchphrase, what would it be?

Computer problems...

My desktop has been screwed up for almost a week now. It began with the usb ports dieing on me, the stuff that was already plugged in at the time were fine but anything else I tried to plug in didn't seem to be able to send any signal to the computer (though it would get power from the port) . I tried to do a system restore which, while it couldn't actually be completed due to some unspecified issue, did fix the usb problem... but also created a even worse problem in its place.

Ever since the failed system restore, my computer has been freezing up when it goes idle (and when I try to run a virus scan, oddly enough). I've tried several things to fix the problem, turned off the screen saver, changed power settings and the various idle functions, I've tried a couple more system restores (they failed to complete as well) and even tried to undo the original restore attempt (also failed to complete) but nothing has worked and a virus scan is, as mentioned, impossible. .

It's a very odd problem really, the computer runs just fine as long as I working on it, but just completely freezes up if left alone for a 20-30 minutes.
