A very minor, and very short-lived, NPC in the Errant Road on-line free-form role-playing game. Needless to say, he doesn't, or didn't, exist in the Poe-verse.

This unfortunate fellow was a minor priest-in-training at the Temple of the Divine Dwarf in Rinkaiel. Essentially his only reason for being mentioned in the story was as a cautionary tale, when he had the misfortune of triggering a most incongruous security device in a non-public part of the temple, with fatal results for him and instructive and ... provocative ones for the various player characters (i.e., Layla and colleagues) who were trying to figure out what was going on there, in conjunction with the Temple's own Sister Joli.

Subsequent adventures with the Temple and its sinister staff took this crew off into various strange directions, but for the decapitated Brother, it was pretty well the end of the line. Clearly we won't be seeing him again. On the other hand, Joli has tearfully indicated that Roscoe was the son of a Very Important Person in Rinkaiel, who we eventually discover is part of the Oshima crime syndicate in Tsuiraku-town. This, presumably, is enough of a reason to hang a name on a character who otherwise would practically epitomize the Red-Shirted Ensign trope.
