ER:Masha

A minor yet important NPC in the Errant Road on-line free-form role-playing game. Needless to say, she doesn't exist in the Poe-verse.
Masha is a half elf and resident of the hidden city of Snamish. She makes her brief appearance in the game when the party of PC adventurers visits Snamish so that Sister Rose can see her late husband's family, Drusia and her new lover Suriah can get settled in, Lillith can think about moving there, etc. Masha's role doesn't directly bring her into contact with any of these, but it's still significant -- and baleful.
She's a Healer who functions as Snamish's main midwife, and in that capacity, it is her misfortune to preside, along with PC Desiree, over the birth of a baby who shows unmistakable signs of being a nascent Errant. This leads to a prolonged thread during which Desiree and Rose try desperately to find an alternative to the euthanasia that Snamish, at the insistence of Drusia (who, after all, founded the place), prescribes for newborn Errants, to keep the rangers from finding and destroying the city. It is fair to say that this becomes one of those situations where the key players do not live happily ever after. With this situation resolved, Masha fades into the background, and presumably, is still living there in Snamish, trying to do the best healing job she can -- although things like the death of that child can't help but leave some scars.
