ER:Pinguimho

From The Heretic Knowledge Vault

Jump to: navigation, search

A weird beast encountered in the Errant Road on-line free-form role-playing game. As far as we know, pinguimhos don't exist in the Poe-verse.

These critters are huge, bird-like bipeds built along the same lines as giant penguins. (The name is a corruption of the Portuguese word for "penguin," in fact.) They are very strong, can swim like fish, and are nasty in a fight, but they are apparently unintelligent, and possibly non-sapient.

Adventurers Jamie, Lucas, Marcus, etc., have an encounter with pinguimhos in the Waldhaxen Channel that splits the country of Farrel in half. (Marcus calls them "prinnies" for his own inscrutable reasons.) They're launched by a mysterious boat passing through the channel to do battle with the Good Guys. In this combat they prove very difficult to kill, and distinctly dangerous when they're in the water, their natural medium. Eventually, however, virtue (sic) triumphs and they're wiped out. Others of their species exist, however, and are posing a problem at the east end of the channel for troll PC Grope, who wants to rescue members of his tribe from an island guarded by them, among other things.

We probably haven't seen the last of these beasts in Errant Road, even though the play has moved away from their main haunts for the moment.
