A big shot in the Tsuirakuan military, introduced here, as he accompanies Meji's grandfather to grill Sarine and the Amraphels on just what has been going on in Emerylon (i.e., Ian Samael and his capacity for death and destruction). As yet his role is uncertain, as he really hasn't done anything except stand around and look menacing. Sarine would clearly like to get him and the other Tsuirakuans to help the elves deal with Ian, but at first, he doesn't buy it.

He drops in again later when the merry crew returns from the Far North, joining Ichiro as they try to make sense out of just what happened up there. He also gets to break the news to Ichiro that his granddaughter has been sighted at Sashi Mu Academy of Thaumaturgy and Conjuration, paying a courtesy call on her old instructor Professor Yukiri. This is probably not as happy news as gramps originally perceives it to be, however.

He does get shown in a more favorable light as the story approaches its climax, and the elves send out a distress signal from Praenubilus Astu. He quickly arranges for Sarine and Jon to lead a team of heliomancers to the elven city to find out WTF is going on, and prepare for the arrival of an airship fleet. This is the kind of thing you expect from a general: figure out what military action is called for, and move quickly and decisively to take it. So maybe he's not as inept as most of the other high mucky-mucks in Errant Story seem to be. Unfortunately, it's probably too little, too late.
