Kawaii is one of the five Paedagogusi. Her real name is Coquette, but she doesn't favor it. The name "Kawaii," which her sister Nookie abhors, was given to her by one of the Rinkai. Kawaii is a friend of Lord Cap'n Xander Kittysnoggins. Ian, who has a typically chaotic encounter with her, thinks she has the metabolism of a hummingbird.
A character with a somewhat different design - but calling herself a "kawaii magical being" - first appeared in Exploitation Now, strip #85, as the Shintou Faerie; she is commonly known to readers and forumites as the Baka Faerie.
"Kawaii" is also the romanization of the Japanese word for "cute."
