A cutting/slashing/spearing weapon used by the Ensigerum, based on the Durus Flamma "technology." Full capabilities of Lancea blades aren't known, but they're obviously pretty good for maiming and decapitating trolls.
Contrary to earlier speculation, they are not the same weapons used in the Good Old Days by elves, but rather a derivative design that the elves condescended to place in the hands of their human underlings who became the Ensigerum. See the "Poe notes" at the end of the Durus Flamma article.
