General babbling.

►Wheeee~ 6 or 7 hours of catching up on a month worth of posts on the Forum and now 5 hours Wiki'ing. @_@ Think I'll go have some breakfast now, which I should of had 12 hours ago. -spiketail 07:26, 22 January 2006 (CST)

►you're now an admin (well, you can delete pages and such, but you can't admin other people). The Baron 00:06, 26 January 2006 (CST)

►Spikey, some of the pointless things are there just for the sake of levity... Maybe so long as they're not offensive it'd be okay to leave a few of them around... kinda like easter eggs? ^-^' --Impy 16:51, 26 January 2006 (CST)

►Gotta be more careful when pruning. <_<... And 2 of those really did look like dead end pointless stuff but are linked somewhere. Note to all: When running searches, use a complete word(s) and not partials. -spiketail

►Erm, Spikey... I have a complete synopsis of Errant Story Volume One... but no place to put it. I will shortly have Volume Two as well. Any idea where it would be best for me to put these things? Like, a Volume by Volume (book by book) guide? I can think of all sorts of notes and the like that might be a good idea to include with the synopsis for a sort of complete recap of the book... Like, noting the missing page in the first printing of Volume One, and talking about the extra material... external observation type of info. --Impy 23:02, 2 February 2006 (CST)

General ES Cheat sheet into ???

ES Cheat Sheet (Main) - Contains Prologue to Chapter 19.

ES Cheat Sheet v1 - ES Cheat Sheet v2 - ES Cheat Sheet v3
ES Cheat Sheet v4
- Prologue - Ch 1. - Ch. 2 - Ch. 3 - Ch. 4 - Ch. 5
Ch. 6 - Ch. 7 - Ch. 8 - Ch. 9 - Ch. 10
Ch. 11 - Ch. 12 - Ch. 13 - Ch. 14 - Ch. 15
Ch. 16 - Ch. 17 - Ch. 18 - Ch. 19

►Trying to generate a general cheat sheet for ES. May or may not be useful by the time I am done. :\
Sample can be found here. Any thoughts on this possible time sink hole are welcome. -spiketail 20:15, 24 January 2006 (CST)

►If you're going to do that, why not just make each page by page articles? --Arwing

►Uh... dunno? *shrug* Would generate a huge log of of stuff that'll probably just end up in the trash. I'm just wasting time on this instead of games. Something to do. EDIT: Right now I'm thinking it as a way to take notes on the comic and possible provide something useful -spiketail 20:43, 24 January 2006 (CST)

Victoria has an archive of each comic page by page. All I'm saying is, if you're going to collect information about Errant Story then it should probably be translated into wiki form eventually. --Arwing 20:52, 24 January 2006 (CST)

►Is a possibility (Have never looked through Victoria. Woah.)... I'll just work on getting a raw form of something (More or less what I'm generating. Lotta elbow grease to refine it later too.) of it done and available and then we can all discuss how we want it to finally look or someone/groups of people (Hand out chapters/selection of pages/something) can just churn out a more refined form or whatever. -spiketail 21:01, 24 January 2006 (CST)

►Oh. My. God.

Spikey, that's awesome. I am in awe of what it will be when finished. Do you plan to include key terms people are likely to use to search for each comic page?

So. Amazing. --Impy 22:46, 24 January 2006 (CST)

►That is a good idea. I should work on one of the chapters... doing the whole thing at once would probably be excessive. Or maybe I'll just go link every page with Sarine in it. ...yup, that's the plan. See you in a couple hours when I finish, all. --DarkLight140 23:38, 24 January 2006 (CST)

►Oy... if you could hold off on that for just a few days, all you'll have to do is a massive amount of copy-and-pasting to do. That was another reason behind this. Sara is the only main char pretty much completely linked. The rest have a @$%#TON of links. Amazing Ian is done (Or pretty much, for the moment, I think).

And Impy, one step at a time, pleeeeeeaaaaase? ;) I'm guessing I'll be done with the rough form by this week or weekend-ish. Then we'll see about that article for every strip. As for key wording it all... if anyone has figured out how get the search function to pay attention to key words, that'd help. -spiketail 00:06, 25 January 2006 (CST)

►Note to self: Read responses to things. And it's basically just a massive amount of copy/pasting anyway, though there's sort of a mandatory Errant Story readthrough involved. Not that I mind. --DarkLight140 01:47, 25 January 2006 (CST)

►Wheeeee. A brief look at the project I've been working on the past few days. Finally caught up (Just as soon as ES updates for tonight...) and will put the entirety and chapter slices up tomorrow (Still the 26th for me. Whole 35 min or so left!). -spiketail 01:24, 27 January 2006 (CST)

►Sweet, now make articles called something like "temporary cheat sheet - chapter foo" with this stuff so we can all work on putting each individual page up and flesh the thing out a bit. If we really want to make one article per comic, then we can each pick a chapter and do all the comics included based on your cheats. We might also want to hunt down the forum thread regarding each page and link that as well--Arwing 14:24, 27 January 2006 (CST)

►And there you have it, Chapters 00(Prologue) to 17. I'm updating Ch. 18 as it comes out and if we're making our way into Ch. 19 as was make the strip by strip articles, I'll put Ch. 18 up. Next on the list:

  1. Generate necessary data
  2. Decide on format of "strip by strip" articles
  3. Ask for volunteers
  4. Assign chapters
  5. Git er done!
  6. ???
  7. Profit!*

*All proceeds to be handed off to Impy and Poe. No if's, and's or but's about it. :)

Another spammer

Hate to tell you, but it looks like another spammer is on the loose. Check what's happened with Half Elf. I've done a couple of reverts. -- Graybeard 15:54, 12 March 2006 (CST)

Sigh ... another one ... Popsi this time. Are all of these coming from the same address? -- Graybeard 22:39, 15 March 2006 (CST)

No idea. Best person to ask would be Baron. But since he's out for this week, can't really ask him. -spiketail 10:14, 16 March 2006 (CST)

This is starting to get out of hand. The latest one has hit the same page(s) more than once, waiting until after the revert and just un-reverting it. Time for some serious adminning. -- Graybeard 07:48, 21 March 2006 (CST)

More of the same. Now there are at least two different idiots doing it at once. -- Graybeard 08:24, 27 March 2006 (CST)

They're back, in spades. HELP! -- Graybeard 08:29, 15 April 2006 (CDT)

You said, "Maybe it's time to start putting the spammer's name in the comment when you revert the articles back to what they were?" Problem is, I'm not an admin here, and therefore don't have access to the automated tool that tracks the names of "authors" being reverted. I'll try to remember, but it's a lot harder to do it manually. -- Graybeard 23:32, 1 May 2006 (CDT)

I can always hope. Not really expecting it to happen. -spiketail 23:45, 1 May 2006 (CDT)

A change in the numeric spammers' tactics. This time they're actually creating topical pages for purposes of filling them with spam. Note that the Lorenzel page was new when the cretin spammed it. I've reverted that one, and put a tiny bit of content in. A few other things have been learned about the spammers too. How to get in touch with you? -- Graybeard 22:27, 12 May 2006 (CDT)

They've been doing that for the past week or so. Since there's nothing to roll back to, I just wipe it clean and save it. That'll create a revert point we can use. Only way to get around that is edit each and every blank page so it has a revert point that we'll use to get rid of the spam. As for contacting me, plenty of contact info on my member page on the Forums. -spiketail 06:56, 13 May 2006 (CDT)

They're baaack, in quantity. I think the best way of dealing with these idiots it by setting up blacklists of URLs for the content, not the spammer, since they seem to function once and then disappear. Know how to do that? It's done on other wikis, some of which I admin, but I don't know how to set it up. -- Graybeard 12:06, 12 August 2006 (CDT)

Policy page

I've started a The Heretic Knowledge Vault:Policy page to help set up access/block/protection guidelines. These will become useful when the software gets upgraded to allow new security measures, and I think they should be informative even now. Please read and comment on the talk page (and change as applicable, since you have sysop access and can make changes to the content page itself, which is currently protected). -- Graybeard 10:36, 16 June 2007 (CDT)
