Connel was an apparently important man the Gewehr were hired to assassinate. He was under the protection of the Veracian Church at the time, and by their request the Ensigerum. The success of the assassination and death of the monk protecting Connel let the Gewehr know of the Ensigerum's existence, and inspired the monks to begin an anti-Wraith campaign.
