I realize this is probably silly, but it kinda bothers me that this page is labeled as both Main Page (primarily) and The Heretic Knowledge Vault (secondarily).  Could we just call this page "Welcome to the Heretic Knowledge Vault?" or even just "The Heretic Knowledge Vault?"  I think it's pretty obvious that it's the main page without labeling it such.  --Impy

Added some categories; Help, Weaponry and History. Made some redirects for the Help, mainly provided links to appropriate parts of the wikipedia website. The Weaponry cat only has one entry, History two. - Sean

Okay. The character listing pages have been merged with the character catagories; what about renaming Category:Misc stuff to Category:Lore? Should the odd pages floating around (Ian Did It, Boobs, etc) be categorised as Category:Misc stuff?. There are also a couple (well, one relevant one) of articles floating around without categories that could do with one. Additionally, wikipedia supports image uploading; you can resize, caption, describe and thumbnail images, as well as gallery them. Could be interesting, very interesting with the summary pages, though the extra webspace used may not be worth it. Still, it's a thought.

Finally, useful thinglies:
Linking a category... [[:Category:CategoryName]]
Signing a comment... ~~~ OR ~~~~
Creating a bullet list... * List Item, ** List Item, *** List Item...
Creating an ordered list... # List Item, ## List Item, ### List Item...
Indenting text...            : Indented text, :: Double Indented Text, ::: Triple Indent...
Preserving Formatting... <pre> Text will not resolve html/wiki tags, keeps format </pre>
<nowiki>Text will not resolve html/wiki tags, loses format</nowiki>
Text proceeding a leading space will resolve tags, but keeps format

Suggested Main Page <- Check it out. Please? - Sean

Bleh, going ahead and merging. - Sean

Main page was reverted to its uncluttered state by me. It's supposed to be in-universe, by the way, and not, as Ezelek put it, an "objective reader creation." Just an FYI. You should really drop by IRC and such (irc.esper.net, #en) and ask Impy or me about it. The Baron 23:14, 30 January 2006 (CST)

The Wiki shall be what the Wikiers make of it. So it has been declared, and so it is writ.

In other words... in universe or objective doesn't matter. What matters is that you guys have fun with it and a newcomer can really understand it and get a lot of information from it. --Impy 14:01, 2 February 2006 (CST)

So is it OK to change it back? - Sean
The IRC channel is a place of hideous and all-encompassing DOOM. It frightens me... - Sean

Finally. Check out Main Page Combined for a succint yet detailed listing of links with a forward and a picture. Oh, did I mention that the code is all notated for easy editing and updating? - Sean 05:02, 4 February 2006 (CST)

You know, at some point (such as when there's a lull in interesting tidbits to add) it might be nice to add a cohesive and unique wiki-wide visual design. Something that fits with the Errant Story main page, but that also appropriately implies the massive store of ES knowledge to be found here. Right now, the wiki is somewhat... apart... from the rest of the ES stuff. You can't even tell it's the same website. --Impy 00:16, 28 January 2007 (CST)

Slamlander seems to be heading in that general direction. -- Graybeard 08:03, 28 January 2007 (CST)

Leave the front page protected?

The spambot attack seems to have been parried, at least for now, and I've started unprotecting the content pages so that they can be edited by anyone with a user name. (Anonymous edits are still out, and will remain out for the foreseeable future, probably.) A question for discussion: should the main page itself remain protected? For a while last year, the main page was the target of quite a bit of spambot vandalism. However, it hasn't been for several months. How do people feel about this? Changing the name of this page
