Errants are half elf and half human, combining the best and worst traits of both races. They live longer than (and mature more slowly than) humans do. Some of them have birth defects making them sickly or psychotic. Others seem perfect.

The term Errant was originally an elven term to refer to those half elves that were born wrong. Due to influences such as religious paranoia and paranoia in general, the term was expanded to mean any half elf. However, only the elves use this term. Humans and half elves use the more readily comprehensible "half elf."
