Evelyn, sometimes just called Lyn, is Ian's older sister. Like many half elves, she was born with a birth defect - healing magic and medicine have thus far been unsucessful in treating her unspecified cardiac illness. Her condition apears to be terminal, so Ian has decided to quest for enough power to overcome her half elf's natural resistance to polymorph and healing magic.
Their mother has dealt with this situation by retreating into near-catatonic apathy.
Evelyn, Ian, and their mother grew up in Santuariel. We're not sure where that is, yet.
