Thanks for the work you've done on this, but two comments. First, "persistence" is the correct spelling, not "persistance". Check a dictionary if applicable. Second, it's somewhat contrary to the spirit of a wiki to say "don't modify this article." The whole idea is for people who see things that others have missed to be able to incorporate those things freely as the spirit moves them. What did you have in mind with this banner? -- Graybeard 13:26, 21 January 2007 (CST)
- Like the banner says, it's work in process. I was still making mucho changes to it. I have no problem with others making changes after I'm done with it. That's not at all contra to the spirit of wiki, we all work like that on both wikipedia and memory-alpha. Otherwise you get the chaos of edits stepping on other edits. It's strictly a working convention. You might want to consider using the WIP panel yourself.
- If I open a page and then you make a change after I've opened it and then I save after your gone then your changes are stepped on or, worst case, it can cause a crash in Mediawiki. In either case, work gets lost. The banner is nothing more than a polite way of working together.
- You were only lucky that your changes didn't get stepped on.
