Description
We don't know exactly what it does, as its only use thus far is offstage. It apparently is a way for one spellcaster to suck (sic) magical energy away from another. Presumably this replenishes the caster's ability to do magic, while diminishing that of the suckee. As there has never been a clear exposition of exactly how magic works in the Poe-verse, the mechanism is a matter of speculation, but it's consistent with an exchange of mana.
Where Used
Used by Meji to try to settle down the over-revved Ian as they're flying to Santuariel. Her description (specifically the "sucking" part) gets raised eyebrows from Riley and Leah.
